In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Subrata Maitra (Kanchan) of BJP won in this constituency beating Naru Gopal Mukherjee of TMC by a margin of 26852 votes which was 13.76% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Manoj Chakraborty of INC was the winner in this seat beating Dr. Sujata Banerjee of TMC by a margin of 92273 votes which was 49.03% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Manoj Chakraborty of INC won this seat defeating Tarit Kumar Brahmachari of RSP by a margin of 43313 votes which was 25.96% of the total votes polled for the seat.
