In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Chiranjeet Chakrabarti of TMC won in this constituency beating Sankar Chatterjee of BJP by a margin of 23783 votes which was 10.66% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Chiranjeet Chakrabarti of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Chattopadhyay Sanjib of AIFB by a margin of 24999 votes which was 12.15% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Chiranjeet Chakrabarti of TMC won this seat defeating Sanjib Chattopadhaya of AIFB by a margin of 40211 votes which was 22.54% of the total votes polled for the seat.
