In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Shyamal Mondal of TMC won in this constituency beating Ramesh Majhi of BJP by a margin of 50642 votes which was 23.89% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Gobinda Chandra Naskar of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Subhas Naskar of RSP by a margin of 16607 votes which was 9.15% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Subhas Naskar of RSP won this seat defeating Arnab Ray of INC by a margin of 6235 votes which was 4.2% of the total votes polled for the seat.
