In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Rafikul Islam Mondal of TMC won in this constituency beating Md Baijid Amin of RSMP by a margin of 89351 votes which was 37.78% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Rafikul Islam Mondal of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating A.T.M. Abdullah (Rony) of TMC by a margin of 492 votes which was 0.23% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Mostafa Bin Quasem of CPIM won this seat defeating Sardar Amjad Ali of TMC by a margin of 3943 votes which was 2.36% of the total votes polled for the seat.
