In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Partha Chatterjee of TMC won in this constituency beating Srabanti Chatterjee of BJP by a margin of 50884 votes which was 22.18% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Partha Chatterjee of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Kaustav Chatterjee of CPIM by a margin of 8896 votes which was 4.01% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Partha Chatterjee of TMC won this seat defeating Anupam Debsarkar of CPIM by a margin of 59021 votes which was 29.06% of the total votes polled for the seat.
