In 2016, Bratya Basu of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Palash Das of CPIM by a margin of 9316 votes which was 5.34% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Bratya Basu of TMC won this seat defeating Gautam Deb of CPIM by a margin of 31497 votes which was 19.55% of the total votes polled for the seat.
