In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Sreerupa Mitra Chaudhury (Nirbhoy Didi) of BJP won in this constituency beating Krishnendu Narayan Choudhury of TMC by a margin of 20099 votes which was 9.46% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Nihar Ranjan Ghosh of IND was the winner in this seat beating Krishnendu Narayan Choudhury of TMC by a margin of 39727 votes which was 19.17% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Krishnendu Narayan Choudhury of INC won this seat defeating Samar Roy of CPIM by a margin of 21829 votes which was 12.64% of the total votes polled for the seat.
