In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Niamot Sheikh of TMC won in this constituency beating Mir Alamgir (Palash) of INC by a margin of 14066 votes which was 6.54% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Niamot Sheikh of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Alamgir Mir (Palash) of INC by a margin of 5003 votes which was 2.64% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Insar Ali Biswas of CPIM won this seat defeating Niamot Sheikh of TMC by a margin of 6358 votes which was 3.88% of the total votes polled for the seat.
