In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Biplab Mitra of TMC won in this constituency beating Nilanjan Roy of BJP by a margin of 22672 votes which was 12.2% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Rafikul Islam of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Biplab Mitra of TMC by a margin of 4504 votes which was 2.7% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Biplab Mitra of TMC won this seat defeating Narayan Biswas of CPIM by a margin of 7067 votes which was 5.15% of the total votes polled for the seat.
