In 2016, Alam Mostaque of INC was the winner in this seat beating Tajmul Hossain of TMC by a margin of 17857 votes which was 10.38% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Tajmul Hossain of AIFB won this seat defeating Alam Mostaque of INC by a margin of 2441 votes which was 1.82% of the total votes polled for the seat.
