In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Islam Sk Nurul (Haji) of TMC won in this constituency beating Kutubuddin Fathe of RSMP by a margin of 80978 votes which was 36.08% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Islam Sk. Nurul (Haji) of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Imtiaz Hossain of CPIM by a margin of 42407 votes which was 21.14% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Julfikar Molla of TMC won this seat defeating Imtiaz Hossain of CPIM by a margin of 1124 votes which was 0.67% of the total votes polled for the seat.
