In 2016, Debes Mandal of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Anandamay Mandal of CPI by a margin of 30304 votes which was 16.95% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Anandamay Mandal of CPI won this seat defeating Debes Mandal of TMC by a margin of 1015 votes which was 0.64% of the total votes polled for the seat.
