In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Nasiruddin Ahamed (Lal) of TMC won in this constituency beating Abhijit Ghosh of BJP by a margin of 46987 votes which was 22.66% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Hasanuzzaman Sk of INC was the winner in this seat beating Ahamed Nasiruddin (Lal) of TMC by a margin of 1227 votes which was 0.66% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Nasiruddin Ahamed(Lal) of TMC won this seat defeating Sankar Sarkar of RSP by a margin of 17178 votes which was 10.97% of the total votes polled for the seat.
