In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Ashis Kumar Biswas of BJP won in this constituency beating Dr Tapas Mandal of TMC by a margin of 21277 votes which was 9.26% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Satyajit Biswas of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Mrinal Biswas(Mini) of CPIM by a margin of 43928 votes which was 20.59% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Sushil Biswas of TMC won this seat defeating Barun Biswas of CPIM by a margin of 20934 votes which was 11.31% of the total votes polled for the seat.
