In 2016, Ujjal Biswas of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Meghlal Sheikh of CPIM by a margin of 12814 votes which was 7.24% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ujjal Biswas of TMC won this seat defeating Biswas Rama of CPIM by a margin of 11028 votes which was 7.16% of the total votes polled for the seat.
