In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Dulal Chandra Das of TMC won in this constituency beating Umesh Das of BJP by a margin of 57949 votes which was 26.59% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Kasturi Das of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Samik Lahiri of CPIM by a margin of 12452 votes which was 6.36% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Kasturi Das of TMC won this seat defeating Sk.Md.Israil of CPIM by a margin of 24283 votes which was 13.82% of the total votes polled for the seat.
