In 2016, Alberuni Zulkarnain of INC was the winner in this seat beating Abdur Rahim Boxi of RSP by a margin of 2600 votes which was 1.66% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Abdur Rahim Boxi of RSP won this seat defeating Al-Beruni of IND by a margin of 6701 votes which was 5.31% of the total votes polled for the seat.
