In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Aditi Munshi of TMC won in this constituency beating Samik Bhattacharya of BJP by a margin of 25296 votes which was 14.33% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Purnendu Basu of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Nepaldeb Bhattacharjee of CPIM by a margin of 6874 votes which was 4.18% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Purnendu Basu of TMC won this seat defeating Rabindra Nath Mandal of CPIM by a margin of 35725 votes which was 23.76% of the total votes polled for the seat.
