In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Parthasarathi Chatterjee of BJP won in this constituency beating Sankar Singha of TMC by a margin of 23128 votes which was 10.47% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Sankar Singha of INC was the winner in this seat beating Parthasarathi Chatterjee (Babu) of TMC by a margin of 23420 votes which was 11.12% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Partha Sarathi Chatterjee (Babu) of TMC won this seat defeating Bhattacharya Mina of CPIM by a margin of 27344 votes which was 14.67% of the total votes polled for the seat.
