In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Abdul Soumik Hossain of TMC won in this constituency beating Firoza Begam of INC by a margin of 79702 votes which was 36.35% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Firoza Begam (E) of INC was the winner in this seat beating Dr. Humayun Kabir of TMC by a margin of 48382 votes which was 25.45% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Firoza Begam of INC won this seat defeating Mst. Maksuda Begum of AIFB by a margin of 1089 votes which was 0.66% of the total votes polled for the seat.
