In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Jagannath Sarkar of BJP won in this constituency beating Ajoy Dey of TMC by a margin of 15878 votes which was 7.31% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Arindam Bhattacharya of INC was the winner in this seat beating Ajoy Dey of TMC by a margin of 19488 votes which was 9.74% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ajoy Dey of INC won this seat defeating Iyar Mallik of RCPIR by a margin of 38158 votes which was 22.29% of the total votes polled for the seat.
