In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Md Abdul Ghani of TMC won in this constituency beating Isha Khan Choudhury of INC by a margin of 130163 votes which was 63.17% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Isha Khan Choudhury of INC was the winner in this seat beating Abu Nasar Khan Choudhury of TMC by a margin of 47080 votes which was 28.28% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Abu Nasar Khan Choudhury of INC won this seat defeating Hazi Ketabuddin of CPIM by a margin of 17361 votes which was 12.96% of the total votes polled for the seat.
